Since 1985 Traditional Stonemasonry Company has been engaged as a subcontract company delivering services to corporations, builders and private owners, for the conservation and restoration of sandstone buildings, sculptures and monuments.
In 1996, with the introduction of James Ginter, whose experience in multi trade large scale Project Estimating and Project Management, allowed the company to develop the Contracting and Project Management arm.
This division focuses on the co-ordinated delivery of specialised heritage trades & services for the conservation and restoration of historic and heritage listed buildings. Our 26 years experience has equipped us with an intimate understanding of the way in which historic buildings are constructed, decorated and the ability to program and sequence activities so as to protect original fabric and minimise delays in a way that few general building contractors can.
By employing Traditional Stonemasonry (Contracting), the owners of these assets also benefit from not paying unnecessary margins normally applied by general building contractors to outsourced trades. As we provide all stonemasonry, decorative plaster and render, carpentry and traditional joinery and metal crafts ‘In House’ the only margins applicable are for other trades outsourced by us.
Previous projects undertaken by TSM (Contracting) include:
- Customs House Building, Circular Quay – Sydney
- Queen Victoria Building, George Street – Sydney
- Former AMP Building, Customhouse Quay – Wellington, New Zealand
- Clock Tower, Main Quadrangle, Sydney University - Sydney
